Regeneration.

ALVARA Foundation is the nonprofit arm of the ALVARA ecosystem — dedicated to pollinator conservation, veteran vitality, and the communities forming around both.

What We Are

The work that goes beyond a business model.

ALVARA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating out of ALVARA Sanctuary in Valley Center, California. It exists to do the work that goes beyond a business model — funding research, building community, protecting ecosystems, and ensuring that the people who need support most can access it.

The Foundation runs two programs: Stewards of the Hive and Front Line Vitality. Separate initiatives, shared purpose.

Our Programs

Two initiatives. One purpose.

Program One

Stewards of the Hive

Bees have sustained life on this planet for 130 million years. They pollinate roughly 75% of the world's flowering plants and about 35% of global food crops. The health of the hive is not a niche concern — it's foundational. Stewards of the Hive is our commitment to live in reciprocal relationship with pollinators, the beekeepers who tend them, and the ecosystems that depend on them.

  • Habitat restoration and pollinator conservation projects
  • Grants to independent beekeepers and conservation organizations
  • Field research into hive health and colony vitality
  • Public education and hands-on experiences at ALVARA Sanctuary

Program Two

Front Line Vitality

The men and women who serve — in combat, in firehouses, on patrol — carry a physiological burden that most wellness approaches were never designed to address. Chronic stress depletes critical nutrients. Sleep, cognition, hormonal regulation, and emotional resilience all take the hit. The effects don't end when the uniform comes off. Front Line Vitality exists to change what's available to them.

  • Subsidized and donated MycoNectar for veterans in need
  • Development of the Veteran Recovery & Vitality Protocol
  • Organized study groups and real-world evidence building
  • Research into how adaptogenic and functional compounds support recovery from PTSD, TBI, chronic stress, and systemic depletion

Community

Lasting change happens in community.

One of the Foundation's core functions is building the human infrastructure around these programs — the networks, the gatherings, the relationships that make it more likely people will actually integrate this into their lives and carry it forward.

ALVARA Sanctuary serves as the gathering place — a physical home for retreats, educational events, apiary experiences, veteran study groups, and the kind of in-person connection that doesn't happen on a screen. The goal is a groundswell: a network of Stewards of the Hive and Front Line Vitality advocates who are rooted in their communities, connected to each other, and committed to the long game.

"In San Diego and beyond, we are developing a growing community of people who are devoted to personal, community, and ecological vitality."

ALVARA Sanctuary

193 acres in Valley Center, California.

ALVARA Foundation operates out of ALVARA Sanctuary — 193 acres in Valley Center, California that serves as the physical and spiritual home of the ALVARA ecosystem.

The Sanctuary is where ALVARA Holdings produces, creates, and builds. It is also where the Foundation runs its programs — study groups, conservation work, community events, and educational experiences — all on the same land, under the same sky.

The Land

One place. Everything we do.

ALVARA Sanctuary is not just a backdrop. It is the physical and spiritual center of the entire ALVARA ecosystem — where the commercial work, the conservation mission, the veteran programs, and the community all share the same ground.

Stewards of the Hive

The Sanctuary is home to ALVARA's pollinator conservation work — apiary programs, habitat restoration, and hands-on education for the community.

Front Line Vitality

Veterans and first responders gather here for study groups, protocol development, and the kind of peer support that only happens in person.

ALVARA Headquarters

The commercial side of ALVARA — MycoNectar production, formulation, and operations — is rooted in the same land as the Foundation's work.

Community Home

Retreats, gatherings, educational events, and the ongoing human connection that holds the entire ecosystem together. This is where the community comes home.

Support the Work

Every dollar goes directly to program operations.

ALVARA Foundation accepts tax-deductible donations in support of Stewards of the Hive and Front Line Vitality. Product for veterans, conservation grants, research, and community building.
